The Ulta Wellness Biomarkers - Women's Health Panel 3 panel contains 17 tests with 115 biomarkers .
Brief Description: The Women's Health Panel 3 is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of a woman's health, focusing on cardiovascular risk, metabolic function, hormonal balance, and vitamin levels. This panel includes critical tests such as Apolipoprotein A1 and B for heart health, C-Reactive Protein for inflammation, Estrogen Total for hormone balance, and the QuestAssureD 25-Hydroxyvitamin D test for vitamin D levels, among others. It's a more advanced panel that builds on the foundational tests by adding key markers for a more nuanced health assessment.
Collection Method: Blood Draw and Urine Collection
Specimen Type: Whole Blood, Serum, and Urine
Test Preparation: Patient should be fasting 12 hours prior to collection
TSH: Specimen collection after fluorescein dye angiography should be delayed for at least 3 days. For patients on hemodialysis, specimen collection should be delayed for 2 weeks.
According to the assay manufacturer Siemens: "Samples containing fluorescein can produce falsely depressed values when tested with the Advia Centaur TSH3 Ultra assay."
When and Why the Panel May Be Ordered
This panel may be recommended for women experiencing symptoms related to hormonal imbalances, those with a family history of heart disease or diabetes, or anyone interested in a detailed health assessment. It's particularly useful for monitoring ongoing health conditions, assessing risk factors for various diseases, and guiding preventive care strategies.
What the Panel Checks For
- Apolipoprotein A1 and B: Indicators of cardiovascular health and lipid metabolism.
- C-Reactive Protein: A marker of inflammation and potential risk for cardiovascular diseases.
- Complete Blood Count with Differential and Platelets: Provides a comprehensive overview of blood health, identifying potential infections, anemia, and other hematological conditions.
- Comprehensive Metabolic Panel: Assesses metabolic function and checks kidney and liver health.
- Estrogen Total: Evaluates overall estrogen levels, crucial for reproductive health and menstrual cycle regulation.
- Gamma Glutamyl Transferase: Helps detect liver and bile duct issues.
- Hemoglobin A1c: Indicates average blood sugar levels over the past 2-3 months, useful for diabetes management.
- Iron Total and Total Iron Binding Capacity: Assess iron levels and storage, indicating potential anemia or iron overload.
- Lactate Dehydrogenase: An enzyme test that helps identify tissue damage.
- Lipid Panel with Ratios and Lipoprotein Fractionation Ion Mobility: Detailed cholesterol testing for assessing cardiovascular risk.
- QuestAssureD 25-Hydroxyvitamin D Total with D2 and D3: Measures vitamin D levels, essential for bone health and immune function.
- T3 Uptake, T4 Total, and Thyroid Stimulating Hormone: Evaluate thyroid function, which affects metabolism, energy, and mood.
- Uric Acid: High levels can indicate gout or kidney issues.
- Urinalysis Complete: Screens for urinary tract infections, kidney disease, and other conditions.
