Also known as: CBC, CBC includes Differential and Platelets, CBC/PLT w/DIFF, Complete Blood Count (includes Differential and Platelets)
NOTE: Ulta Lab Tests provides CBC test results from Quest Diagnostics as they are reported. Often, different biomarker results are made available at different time intervals. When reporting the results, Ulta Lab Tests denotes those biomarkers not yet reported as 'pending' for every biomarker the test might report. Only biomarkers Quest Diagnostics observes are incorporated and represented in the final CBC test results provided by Ulta Lab Tests.

The Testosterone Replacement Package I panel contains 3 tests with 37 biomarkers .
Brief Description: The Testosterone Replacement Package I panel is a focused set of tests designed for individuals undergoing or considering testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). This panel evaluates key blood components, hormone levels, and the binding capacity of testosterone, providing essential insights for safe and effective TRT management.
Collection Method: Blood Draw
Specimen: 4 mL Whole Blood and 4 mL Serum
Test Preparation:
Dietary supplements containing biotin may interfere in assays and may skew analyte results to be either falsely high or falsely low. For patients receiving the recommended daily doses of biotin, draw samples at least 8 hours after the last biotin supplementation. For patients on mega-doses of biotin supplements, draw samples at least 72 hours after the last biotin supplementation.
Medication Interactions: Use of STRENSIQ may interfere with this lab test, leading to falsely elevated results. Talk to your healthcare provider about using an alternative test if you are receiving STRENSIQ.
This panel is intended for patients that are 18 years old or older. If this panel is ordered for a pediatric (under 18) patient, the lab will automatically change the Estradiol test code to and charge for Estradiol, Ultrasensitive LC/MS/MS #30289. For male patients with low estradiol levels, the lab may change the Estradiol test to and charge for Estradiol, Ultrasensitive LC/MS/MS #30289. |
When and Why the Testosterone Replacement Package I Panel May Be Ordered
Healthcare providers may order this panel for men experiencing symptoms of low testosterone, such as fatigue, decreased libido, weight gain, and muscle loss, or for monitoring ongoing TRT. It's also used to assess baseline hormone levels and ensure that TRT candidates do not have underlying health conditions that could be affected by hormone therapy.
What the Testosterone Replacement Package I Panel Checks For
-
Complete Blood Count with Differential and Platelets: Provides a comprehensive overview of blood health, crucial for detecting conditions like anemia or polycythemia, which can be influenced by testosterone levels.
-
Estradiol: Measures the level of estradiol, a form of estrogen that can be affected by TRT and is essential for balancing hormonal health and managing potential side effects of testosterone therapy.
-
Testosterone Free and Total with Sex Hormone Binding Globulin: Assesses total testosterone levels, free (unbound) testosterone, and the capacity of sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), providing a detailed picture of testosterone availability and activity in the body.
Getting a Deeper Understanding of Your Hormone Health
For individuals seeking a more comprehensive evaluation or those with specific health concerns, the following panels offer expanded testing:
-
Testosterone Replacement Package II panel: Builds upon Package I by adding PSA Total, which measures prostate-specific antigen levels, crucial for monitoring prostate health during TRT.
-
Testosterone Replacement Package Plus panel: Offers the most extensive evaluation, including all tests in Package II, along with a Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, Lipid Panel, Estradiol, Ultrasensitive, and Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, providing a thorough assessment of overall health, metabolic function, and more sensitive hormone analysis.
Conditions or Diseases the Testosterone Replacement Package I Panel Can Check For
This panel is primarily used to evaluate and manage low testosterone levels and conditions related to hormonal imbalances, such as hypogonadism. It can also help identify potential contraindications to TRT, like polycythemia or hormonal imbalances that could be exacerbated by testosterone therapy.
Use of Testosterone Replacement Package I Panel Results by Healthcare Professionals
Healthcare professionals analyze the results to tailor TRT to individual needs, monitor therapy effectiveness, and manage potential side effects. The panel aids in making informed decisions about hormone dosages and adjusting treatment protocols to optimize patient outcomes.
The Testosterone Replacement Package I panel offers a fundamental approach to evaluating essential aspects of hormonal health and blood parameters crucial for individuals considering or undergoing TRT. It provides a baseline for safe and effective therapy management, ensuring that treatment decisions are informed and responsive to individual health needs. For those requiring a broader health assessment or more detailed hormonal analysis, the Testosterone Replacement Package II and Plus panels offer additional tests to meet these needs comprehensively.
We advise having your results reviewed by a licensed medical healthcare professional for proper interpretation of your results.
