Nickel Blood Test

The level of acute nickel poisoning can be estimated using whole blood nickel. Nickel can enter the body through two routes: inhaling nickel-containing dust and fumes or through skin contact.

After becoming sensitized to nickel, further contact with the metal may result in a response. A skin rash at the place of contact is the most typical reaction. Dermatitis (a type of skin rash) may develop in certain sensitized people in an area of the skin other than the place of contact.
