The following is a list of what is included in the item above. Click the test(s) below to view what biomarkers are measured along with an explanation of what the biomarker is measuring.
Also known as: CBC, CBC includes Differential and Platelets, CBC/PLT w/DIFF, Complete Blood Count (includes Differential and Platelets)
NOTE: Ulta Lab Tests provides CBC test results from Quest Diagnostics as they are reported. Often, different biomarker results are made available at different time intervals. When reporting the results, Ulta Lab Tests denotes those biomarkers not yet reported as 'pending' for every biomarker the test might report. Only biomarkers Quest Diagnostics observes are incorporated and represented in the final CBC test results provided by Ulta Lab Tests.
Also known as: PSA
Also known as: Testosterone Total And Free And Sex Hormone Binding Globulin
The Testosterone Replacement Package II panel contains 4 tests with 38 biomarkers.
Brief Description: The Testosterone Replacement Package II panel is designed for individuals undergoing testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) or those being evaluated for it. This panel expands on basic hormonal assessments by including a prostate health marker, making it a more comprehensive choice for men's health evaluation.
The Estradiol test included in this panel is not intended for patients under the age of 18 years old. For patients under 18 years old, order Estradiol, Ultrasensitive LC/MS/MS #30289. If Estradiol #4021 is ordered for a patient under 18, the lab will automatically change the code to and charge for Estradiol, Ultrasensitive LC/MS/MS #30289 at an additional charge of $34.
Collection Method: Blood Draw
Specimen Type: Whole Blood and Serum
Test Preparation: No preparation required
Note: For any patients for whom low estradiol levels are anticipated (e.g. males, pre-pubertal children and hypogonadal/post-menopausal females), the Estradiol, Ultrasensitive, LC/MS/MS #30289 assay is recommended.
Healthcare providers often order this panel for men experiencing symptoms of low testosterone or hormonal imbalances, such as decreased libido, fatigue, muscle weakness, and mood changes. It's particularly useful for monitoring the safety and effectiveness of TRT, especially regarding its impact on prostate health.
Complete Blood Count with Differential and Platelets: Evaluates overall blood health, crucial for detecting conditions like anemia or polycythemia, which can be affected by TRT.
Estradiol: Measures the level of estradiol, a form of estrogen that can influence testosterone efficacy and is associated with potential side effects of TRT.
PSA Total: Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing is essential for monitoring prostate health, as TRT can influence PSA levels and prostate gland growth.
Testosterone Free and Total with Sex Hormone Binding Globulin: Provides a comprehensive view of testosterone availability and activity in the body, including total testosterone levels, free testosterone, and the capacity of sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), which affects testosterone's bioavailability.
For an even more comprehensive health assessment, the Testosterone Replacement Package Plus panel offers additional tests:
This panel is primarily used to evaluate and manage testosterone deficiency and monitor TRT's effects. The inclusion of PSA testing makes it particularly useful for assessing prostate health risks associated with TRT.
Healthcare professionals utilize the results to diagnose hormonal imbalances, tailor TRT to individual needs, monitor therapy effectiveness, and manage potential side effects. The PSA test is crucial for evaluating the impact of TRT on prostate health.
The Testosterone Replacement Package II panel offers a targeted approach for evaluating testosterone levels and monitoring TRT, with the added benefit of assessing prostate health through PSA testing. This panel aids healthcare providers in making informed decisions regarding TRT management, ensuring both efficacy and safety. For those seeking a broader health assessment, the Testosterone Replacement Package Plus panel extends the evaluation to include metabolic, cardiovascular, and thyroid health, providing a comprehensive overview for optimizing men's health and TRT outcomes.
