The following is a list of what is included in the item above. Click the test(s) below to view what biomarkers are measured along with an explanation of what the biomarker is measuring.
Also known as: CBC, CBC includes Differential and Platelets, CBC/PLT w/DIFF, Complete Blood Count (includes Differential and Platelets)
NOTE: Ulta Lab Tests provides CBC test results from Quest Diagnostics as they are reported. Often, different biomarker results are made available at different time intervals. When reporting the results, Ulta Lab Tests denotes those biomarkers not yet reported as 'pending' for every biomarker the test might report. Only biomarkers Quest Diagnostics observes are incorporated and represented in the final CBC test results provided by Ulta Lab Tests.
Also known as: Chem 12, Chemistry Panel, Chemistry Screen, CMP, Complete Metabolic Panel, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel CMP, SMA 12, SMA 20
Also known as: Estradiol Ultrasensitive LCMSMS
Also known as: Cholesterol, HDL,Fasting Lipids,Cholesterol, LDL, Fasting Lipids, Lipid Panel (fasting), Lipid Profile (fasting), Lipids
Also known as: PSA
Also known as: Testosterone Free Bioavailable and Total LCMSMS
Also known as: Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), Thyrotropin
The Testosterone Replacement Package Plus panel contains 7 tests with 69 biomarkers.
Brief Description: The Testosterone Replacement Package Plus panel is the most comprehensive assessment within the testosterone replacement series, designed for individuals undergoing testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) or those being evaluated for hormonal imbalances. This panel includes a wide range of tests that evaluate not only testosterone levels and prostate health but also provide a broad overview of metabolic, cardiovascular, and thyroid health.
The Estradiol test included in this panel is not intended for patients under the age of 18 years old. For patients under 18 years old, order Estradiol, Ultrasensitive LC/MS/MS #30289. If Estradiol #4021 is ordered for a patient under 18, the lab will automatically change the code to and charge for Estradiol, Ultrasensitive LC/MS/MS #30289 at an additional charge of $34.
Collection Method: Blood Draw
Specimen Type: Whole Blood and Serum
Test Preparation: Patient should be fasting for at least 9 hours prior to collection.
Specific to TSH: Specimen collection after fluorescein dye angiography should be delayed for at least 3 days. For patients on hemodialysis, specimen collection should be delayed for 2 weeks.
According to the assay manufacturer Siemens: "Samples containing fluorescein can produce falsely depressed values when tested with the Advia Centaur TSH3 Ultra assay."
Note: For any patients for whom low estradiol levels are anticipated (e.g. males, pre-pubertal children and hypogonadal/post-menopausal females), the Estradiol, Ultrasensitive, LC/MS/MS #30289 assay is recommended.
Healthcare providers may order this panel for men experiencing symptoms of hormonal imbalances, such as reduced libido, fatigue, muscle loss, or mood changes. It's particularly beneficial for individuals on TRT to monitor therapy effectiveness, manage potential side effects, and assess overall health impacts. The panel is also useful for evaluating baseline health status before initiating TRT.
Complete Blood Count with Differential and Platelets: Assesses blood health, crucial for detecting conditions like anemia or polycythemia, which can be influenced by testosterone levels.
Comprehensive Metabolic Panel: Provides insights into kidney and liver function, electrolyte balance, and glucose levels, offering a snapshot of metabolic health.
Estradiol, Ultrasensitive: Measures estradiol levels with high sensitivity, important for fine-tuning TRT and managing estrogen-related side effects.
Lipid Panel: Evaluates cholesterol and triglyceride levels, essential for assessing cardiovascular risk, particularly relevant for those on TRT.
PSA Total: Prostate-specific antigen testing is critical for monitoring prostate health, as TRT can influence PSA levels and prostate gland growth.
Testosterone Free, Bioavailable, and Total: Offers a detailed analysis of testosterone levels, including total testosterone, free testosterone, and bioavailable testosterone, providing a comprehensive view of hormonal status.
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH): Assesses thyroid function, which can be interrelated with hormonal balance and overall metabolic health.
This panel can help diagnose and manage conditions such as:
Healthcare professionals use the results to tailor TRT to individual needs, monitor therapy effectiveness, manage potential side effects, and ensure overall health is maintained. The comprehensive nature of the panel allows for a holistic approach to patient care, addressing not just hormonal imbalances but also associated health concerns.
The Testosterone Replacement Package Plus panel offers an extensive evaluation crucial for individuals on or considering TRT. By assessing a wide range of health markers, including hormonal levels, metabolic function, cardiovascular risk, and prostate health, this panel ensures that TRT is both effective and safe, taking into account the individual's overall health status. It empowers healthcare providers with the information needed to optimize treatment strategies and promote well-being.
