If you have a baby, then RSV is something that should be on your radar.
The respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) causes more hospitalizations in infants than any other virus. RSV is a respiratory virus that can cause serious illness in infants and young children. It’s the leading cause of bronchiolitis (inflammation of the small airways in the lungs) and pneumonia in children under 1 year old. And it can lead to serious complications like chronic lung disease or even death for some babies. The symptoms are similar to those of a cold or flu, but they usually get worse quickly. If your baby has trouble breathing, call 911 right away.
